It took us some time to wake up from the Sangria and by 1pm we were at the mechanic who told us that the repairs would be finished by late afternoon. We went for some supplies and started our journey FINALLY by driving to our first stop midway to the Thousand Islands. More than 3 hours later in the dark of the night and still searching for our campground, we encountered a couple of racoons. They were crossing the road, the first one knew what to do: keep running and don’t look in the light, the second one seemed blinded by the light and stood still in the middle of the road. Driving a 5T vehicle, it was not possible to stop so we drove over it, we think it escaped the wheels. After this dreadful experience we were arriving in the dark to our campground were we learned our first lesson, always carry cash in case campgrounds only give rebate when paying with bank notes.
