After another night in the dark, I started to get over my biggest fears and we actually slept well and were up early to start driving towards Annapolis and the bridge crossing the Chesapeake bay to what is called the Eastern Shore. The places to visit in Maryland are St Michaels - ‘The Heart and Soul of the Chesapeake Bay’, Tilghman Island - at the outer south point of Road 33 - and beautiful historic Oxford

We were planning to spend the night at a campground in Quinby, Virginia, at the southern tip of the peninsula. During our way down, we were getting hungry and found a seafood place called ‘Skip Jacks Seafood’ in Salisbury, best in town according to the locals. So we wanted to try the specialty ‘a bushel of crabs’; half a bushel (more than enough for the 2 of us) contained 50 small crabs, 6 sweet corns and half a pound of shrimps. I say 50 crabs, but we actually never counted them, there could have been more! Crabs and shrimps were steamed in a spicy mix, we don’t know if they were actually the best of the town, but they were delicious!
